Huawei to answer questions on 5G British legislators Monday
British officials have raised concerns about security issues
Next week, a senior Huawei official will have to answer questions from British lawmakers in the midst of a continued fury over the role he should play in next-generation 5G telecommunications networks, Parliament said Friday.
The United States has advanced allegations that Huawei's equipment could be used by Beijing for espionage operations, urging the Allies to ban the company from communicating with 5G networks.
British officials also raised concerns about security issues, but said they could handle the risks and saw no evidence of espionage. Huawei repeatedly denied the allegations against her.
John Suffolk, Huawei Global Cyber Security and Privacy Officer, will appear Monday before the UK Science and Technology Committee to answer questions about "the possible security risks of 5G communications," said Parliament.
