Trump : "Hamza Bin Laden was very threatening to us, I can't say more"

Citing anonymous officials, the American media reported on Wednesday that Hamza bin Laden was killed during the first two years of the Trump government. No official confirmation has been received from the United States.

Al-Qaeda's Hamza bin Laden was very threatening to the United States, President Donald Trump said on Thursday, refraining from commenting on reports of the death of Osama Bin Laden's son.

"I can't talk about it. But he was very threatening to our country. He was saying very bad things about our country," Trump told The Press on the day at the White House about whether the United States had played a role in the death of Hamza bin Laden.

Citing anonymous officials, the American media reported on Wednesday that Hamza bin Laden was killed during the first two years of the Trump government. No official confirmation has been received from the United States.

"If confirmed, his death represents yet another blow to Al-Qaeda, whose ranks have been hollowed out by unending American attacks and the rise of the Islamic State," said The New York Times, the first American publication to report.

"But I can't comment," Trump said of the death of Osama Bin Laden's successor.

"But I will say that Hamza bin Laden was very threatening to our country, and you can't do that. Nothing more, I have no comment to make," said Donald Trump.

According to The New York Times, Hamza bin Laden was not more than 30 years old. "Because it bears the most famous name of terrorism, the young Bin Laden can tap into the dedication that the jihadists around the world feel for his father" American daily reported.
For these reasons, Al-Qaeda hoped that Bin Laden would be a unifier, attracting not only the group's base, but also the recruits lost to ISIS, the American daily said.
