Chilling moment Ukraine river turns blood RED a day after Russia blitzed dam in bid to drown civilians
This is the terrifying moment when a river in Ukraine turned red, a day after Russia hit a dam in one of Ukraine's largest cities, forcing residents to leave their flooded homes.
Eight Russian cruise missiles hit Kryvyi Rih, the largest city in central Ukraine, on Wednesday and Thursday,
Effectively destroying the water pumping station and causing the Inhulets River to breach a dam on Thursday.
Now, footage of the swollen Inholets River published by the local Kyiv Post shows that the flowing waters have turned red, as local officials report more rocket attacks on the city.
“Kryvyi Rih was again exposed to enemy fire. The Russians directed their missiles at critical infrastructure. There is a serious destruction of hydraulic installations,
Valentin Reznichenko, head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, posted on the Telegram messaging application.
While it remains unclear why the river turned red, locals speculated that the ruby color was associated with the red mud on the riverbank - and that the flood eroded the soil further.
Kryvyi Rih,
Hometown of President Volodymyr Zelensky, home to 650,000 people, many areas of the city were evacuated in the wake of the strikes.
